Free GPS location sharing.

What it does

Install the Android app, create a session, and share your location with anyone who might be worried about you via a simple web link. No third-party tracking services, no account/registration, no ads.

Optional SMS fallback:

  • If you don't have mobile data, your location will be sent via SMS (max 1/hour).
  • This requires a support membership, see support this app for more information.
  • Currently only works for UK and German phone numbers.

What/Who is it for

Share your location in case of emergency or for peace of mind with family and friends; when you're out hiking, cyling, running, on your motorbike, etc.

It is optimised for battery usage, not precision.

  • Location is updated maximum once per minute, when mobile data is available (max once per hour for SMS fallback)
  • This will not be sufficient to give you an accurate GPS track of your hike, run, etc! There are other/better apps for that purpose.

  • App can run in the background, tracking still active.
  • Live web viewer on an OpenStreetMap map.
  • Offline queue: points are stored locally when connectivity drops and uploaded in bulk when it returns.
  • SMS fallback (optional): send your latest location via SMS when mobile data is unavailable.
  • Emergency button sends current location as SMS/text to your emergency contacts. Works also when no session/tracking is active!
  • GPX export for any session.
  • Automatic cleanup of expired sessions.

Was macht die App

Installiere die Android-App, erstelle eine Sitzung und teile deinen Standort mit jedem, der sich um dich Sorgen machen könnte, über einen einfachen Weblink. Keine Drittanbieter-Dienste, kein Konto/Registrierung notwendig, keine Werbung.

Optionaler SMS-Fallback:

  • Wenn keine mobilen Daten verfügbar sind, wird dein Standort per SMS gesendet (max. 1/Stunde).
  • Dafür ist eine Support-Mitgliedschaft erforderlich, siehe App unterstützen für mehr Informationen.
  • Funktioniert derzeit nur für britische und deutsche Telefonnummern.

Zielgruppe

Teile deinen Standort im Notfall oder mit Familie/Freunden, die sich um dich Sorgen machen; wenn du unterwegs bist Wandern, mit dem Fahrrad, Motorrad, etc.

Die App ist für den Akkuverbrauch optimiert, nicht für Genauigkeit.

  • Der Standort wird maximal einmal pro Minute aktualisiert, wenn mobile Daten verfügbar sind (max. einmal pro Stunde für den SMS-Fallback)
  • Das reicht nicht aus, um eine genaue GPS-Route deiner Wanderung, Radfahrt, etc. zu erhalten! Dafür gibt's andere/bessere Apps.

Funktionen

  • App läuft im Hintergrund, Ortung bleibt aktiv.
  • Live-Webansicht auf einer OpenStreetMap-Karte.
  • Offline-Warteschlange: Punkte werden lokal gespeichert, wenn keine Verbindung besteht, und gesammelt hochgeladen, sobald sie wieder verfügbar ist.
  • SMS-Fallback (optional): aktuellen Standort per SMS senden, wenn mobile Daten nicht verfügbar sind.
  • Notfall-Button der den aktuellen Standort als SMS an deine Notfall-Kontakte sendet. Funktioniert auch wenn kein Tracking aktiv ist!
  • GPX-Export für jede Sitzung.
  • Automatische Bereinigung abgelaufener Sitzungen.
